WHO and UNICEF tie child development screening to tracked follow-up
A 2025 systematic review found that all six included studies, covering 689 children, reported gains in at least one developmental domain. No randomized trials were included, and WHO-UNICEF guidance says a concerning screen must lead to assessment and tracked follow-up rather than serve as a diagnosis.
